On Friday the 18th of October we would like to invite you to come get the updated on the mining threats and dance the night away with us to talented local reggae, dub, hip hop and drum and bass DJs and MC’s.
The night shall begin with easy listening reggae so if you’re not one for the dance floor please come down early to support us, enjoy Umu’s delicious menu and catch up with what’s going.
There will also be the chance to buy Coromandel No Mining and the few last regatta T-shirts.
On the mining front in Coromandel:
The prospecting permit in the harbour is of ongoing concern, especially as we know SEA Group Holdings, the company with the permit is co – owned by Andrew Knight. He is the CEO of NZ Oil and Gas who were part owners of the Pike River Mine and who stands accused of short changing the compensation to bereaved families of the miners. Not the sort of person we want doing business in our town!
There is a new application for a huge permit that runs from Manaia all the way up to Coromandel Town. Click here to see it.
It’s time to gather forces and resources plus it will be lots of fun!
Nau mai, haere mai.
